Taake are a Norwegian black metal band formed in Bergen in 1993 by vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter Hoest. Originally created under the name Thule, the project evolved into one of the most respected and enduring bands in Norwegian black metal, known for combining raw aggression with atmospheric melancholy and strong regional identity.
Over the years, Taake have become closely associated with the Bergen black metal scene, maintaining a fiercely traditional approach while incorporating progressive and folk-inspired elements into their sound.
