Periphery are an American Progressive metal band formed in Washington, D.C. in 2005 by guitarist Misha Mansoor. Emerging as one of the defining bands of the modern djent movement, Periphery became known for combining technical precision, complex rhythms and expansive melodic songwriting with crushing heaviness and progressive experimentation.
Their sound blends progressive metal, metalcore and djent with atmospheric electronics, intricate guitar layering and dynamic vocal contrasts, creating a style that moves fluidly between technical aggression and cinematic melody.
