Dimscûa are a five piece post metal and atmospheric sludge band from Berkshire. The music is born from loss and it carries that weight without turning it into a slogan. It is heavy, slow, and huge, but there is space in it too. Long sections of ambience and texture that make the riffs hit harder when they arrive.
The debut album Dust Eater was written and recorded over four years, and you can hear that time in the detail. It is a tight 30 minute journey that moves through colossal low end, haunted melody, and cathartic release. This is the sort of record you put on when you want something that matches the mood, then lifts you out of it a bit by the end.
Start with Dust Eater front to back. It is built like a single piece, and it rewards a full listen more than it does skipping around.
