Old Man’s Child are a Norwegian black metal band formed in Oslo in 1993 by vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter Galder. The band became one of the defining names of melodic and symphonic black metal during the late 1990s and early 2000s, combining aggressive black metal with atmospheric keyboards and melodic songwriting.

Over the years, Old Man’s Child evolved from a full band into largely a solo project centred around Galder, who simultaneously became widely known for his role in Dimmu Borgir.

Melodic Black Metal, Symphonic Atmosphere, and Norwegian Darkness
