Running Wild are a German heavy metal band formed in Hamburg in 1976 by guitarist/vocalist Rolf “Rock ’n’ Rolf” Kasparek. They are widely regarded as pioneers of pirate metal and one of the defining bands of the German heavy metal scene.
Originally emerging from a more traditional heavy metal and speed metal background, Running Wild evolved into a distinctive force known for their nautical themes and historical storytelling.
