Jet were an Australian rock band formed in Melbourne, Victoria, in 2001. Known for their energetic garage-rock sound and classic rock influences, the band gained worldwide acclaim with their catchy riffs, anthemic choruses, and raw, high-octane performances.
About Jet
For most of their career, Jet consisted of lead guitarist Cameron Muncey, bassist Mark Wilson, and brothers Nic Cester (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) and Chris Cester (drums, percussion, backing vocals). The band released three studio albums: Get Born (2003), which became a global hit and launched them into international stardom; Shine On (2006); and Shaka Rock (2009). Over the course of their career, Jet sold over 6.5 million albums worldwide, cementing their status as one of Australia’s most successful rock exports.
Jet initially dissolved in 2012 but reunited for a series of shows in 2016 before splitting again at the end of 2019. Their music continues to influence modern rock fans and collectors, with their albums celebrated for their timeless guitar hooks and infectious energy.
