AFI are an American rock band formed in Ukiah, California in 1991 by vocalist Davey Havok and drummer Adam Carson. Originally emerging from the hardcore punk scene, the band evolved across multiple eras into one of the most distinctive and influential alternative rock acts of the 2000s.
Across their career, AFI became known for blending hardcore punk energy with gothic atmosphere, alternative rock melody, post-hardcore intensity, and darkly emotional songwriting.
