Preyrs are an alternative rock band from Belfast, Northern Ireland. Emerging from the contemporary UK and Irish underground scene, Preyrs is the brainchild of singer/songwriter Amy Montgomery and drummer/producer Michael Mormecha. They blend post-punk atmosphere, alternative rock dynamics, and emotionally charged songwriting into a dark, melodic sound.
The band’s music balances intensity and restraint, combining reverb-heavy guitars, driving rhythms, and introspective lyricism that explores themes of emotional struggle, healing, and inner conflict.
Preyrs’ sound is defined by atmospheric guitar textures, brooding basslines, and dynamic shifts between restraint and cathartic release. Their approach draws from post-punk, indie rock, and modern alternative influences while maintaining a distinctly emotive core.
Their songwriting often focuses on personal and psychological themes, delivered through a cinematic and immersive production style.
The Wounded Healer (2025) – debut full-length album exploring themes of trauma, recovery, and emotional transformation through atmospheric alternative rock and post-punk-influenced songwriting.
Preyrs represent a new generation of Belfast alternative bands blending emotional depth with atmospheric guitar-driven music. Their sound sits within a broader resurgence of post-punk and alternative rock in the UK and Irish underground scenes.
All Preyrs releases we carry are official physical formats only, focusing on vinyl and CD editions sourced from authorised labels and distributors.
