B E A R are a Belgian metallic hardcore band from Antwerp, formed in 2010. Known for their chaotic blend of progressive metal, mathcore, djent, and technical hardcore, the band have developed a distinctive sound built around crushing riffs, complex rhythms, abrasive intensity, and constantly shifting song structures. Their music combines precision and heaviness in a way that keeps even the most technical passages brutally effective.
Over the course of their career, B E A R have continually expanded their sound, moving between punishing hardcore aggression, progressive metal experimentation, and intricate mathcore arrangements. From their early Abstractions EP through albums such as Doradus, Noumenon, ///, Propaganda, and VANTA, the band have established themselves as one of Belgium's more adventurous modern heavy acts.
B E A R combine progressive metal, mathcore, djent, and technical hardcore into a dense and unpredictable sound. Complex guitar work, crushing low-end, shifting time signatures, intricate rhythms, and aggressive vocals create music that is both technically demanding and relentlessly heavy.
Rather than settling into a single formula, the band continually experiment with structure, atmosphere, and intensity. Their ability to move between precise technical passages and huge bursts of hardcore aggression gives B E A R a distinctive identity within the European heavy music scene.
