DIIV are a Brooklyn band formed in 2011, best known for dreamy guitars and that hazy pull between shoegaze, indie rock, and post punk mood. The band started as a solo recording project by Zachary Cole Smith under the name Dive, then grew into a full lineup and tightened into something far more expansive and consistent.
These days the band is Zachary Cole Smith, Andrew Bailey, Colin Caulfield and Ben Newman. Across their albums you can hear the shift from lighter, janglier beginnings into a heavier, more textured sound. It still has that drifting feel, but with more grit and weight behind it, especially on the later records.
If you want the early DIIV sound, Oshin is the clean entry point. If you want the darker, more full bodied version of the band, Deceiver is the one. Frog in Boiling Water is a great newer snapshot if you want something that is detailed and direct at the same time.
This category is audio-only for now. We stock DIIV on CD and vinyl. Titles can come and go depending on availability, so if you spot one you have been after, it is worth grabbing while it is in.
We are also working on getting T-shirts and hoodies in when we can. Keep an eye on this page and they will show up here if and when they land.
