A Day To Remember are an American rock band from Ocala, Florida, formed in 2003 by guitarist Tom Denney and drummer Bobby Scruggs, later solidified around vocalist Jeremy McKinnon, guitarist Neil Westfall, drummer Alex Shelnutt and bassist Joshua Woodard. Known for their distinctive blend of Pop punk hooks and Metalcore breakdowns, the band built a sound that bridges melodic accessibility with heavy, aggressive intensity.
Their music is defined by the contrast between soaring clean choruses and hard-hitting breakdowns, often shifting seamlessly between upbeat pop punk structures and heavier post-hardcore and metalcore elements. This hybrid approach helped A Day To Remember stand out in the mid-2000s alternative scene, appealing to fans across both melodic punk and heavier hardcore audiences.
Early releases such as And Their Name Was Treason (2005) and For Those Who Have Heart (2007) established their signature formula of catchy songwriting paired with breakdown-heavy aggression. Their breakthrough came with Homesick (2009), which refined their sound and brought wider international attention.
Albums like What Separates Me from You (2010), Common Courtesy (2013), Bad Vibrations (2016) and Big Ole Album Vol. 1 (2025) continued to evolve their style, balancing radio-friendly punk anthems with heavier, more aggressive material. This dual identity has remained central to their appeal, allowing the band to move fluidly between mainstream rock audiences and heavier underground scenes.
