As Everything Unfolds are a British rock band from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, combining post-hardcore, alternative rock and metalcore with powerful vocals, melodic hooks and emotionally charged songwriting. Fronted by Charlie Rolfe, alongside guitarist Adam Kerr and bassist George Hunt, the band have become known for balancing heavier guitar-driven passages with atmospheric textures and memorable choruses.
Their music combines aggression and melody without settling into a single formula, moving between soaring vocal performances, driving riffs, electronic elements and more vulnerable lyrical passages. This approach has helped As Everything Unfolds build an international audience through touring, festival appearances and a growing catalogue of emotionally direct modern rock.
Formed in 2013, As Everything Unfolds initially developed through a series of independently released EPs, with Jekyll & Hyde, Collide and Closure gradually establishing their sound. The success of Closure helped attract wider attention, leading to a deal with Long Branch Records in 2020 and setting the stage for their first full-length album.
Within Each Lies the Other arrived in 2021 and brought the band a significantly larger audience, combining melodic songwriting with heavier arrangements and Charlie Rolfe's distinctive vocals. The album was followed by extensive UK and European touring, while the band continued to expand their sound on Ultraviolet in 2023, which pushed further into bigger hooks, riffs and choruses.
After further touring and lineup changes, including the departure of guitarist Owen Hill and the death of drummer Jamie Gowers in 2024, the band entered a new chapter with Century Media Records. Their third studio album, Did You Ask to Be Set Free?, was released in April 2026, exploring themes of identity, inner conflict and self-discovery while continuing the band's combination of emotional songwriting and modern heavy music. On 31 July 2026, keyboardist Jon Cassidy announced that he was stepping away from the band to pursue a "different path" in his musical career.
