Capra are an American metallic hardcore band formed in Lafayette, Louisiana in 2016 by guitarist Tyler Harper and drummer Jeremy Randazzo, later joined by vocalist Crow Lotus and bassist Trevor Alleman. Emerging from the modern hardcore underground, the band quickly gained recognition for their ferocious blend of metallic hardcore, punk aggression, groove-laden riffing, and emotionally charged songwriting. Their rise accelerated following their signing to Metal Blade Records and the release of their acclaimed full-length debut, In Transmission.
Across their career, Capra have earned a reputation for delivering intense live performances and combining raw hardcore energy with personal, introspective lyricism and increasingly sophisticated songwriting.
Capra’s sound combines metallic hardcore aggression, punk urgency, groove-heavy riffing, and occasional sludge and noise rock influences. Their music frequently explores themes of trauma, self-destruction, mental health, personal empowerment, emotional resilience, and societal pressure.
