Coalesce are an American metalcore band formed in Kansas City, Missouri in 1994 by vocalist Sean Ingram, guitarist Jes Steineger, bassist Stacy Hilt, and drummer Jim Redd. Emerging from the Midwest hardcore scene, the band became one of the most influential and innovative acts in the development of chaotic metalcore and mathcore, helping redefine the boundaries between hardcore punk and extreme metal.
