Combichrist are an American Industrial Metal band formed in 2003 by Norwegian vocalist Andy LaPlegua, who is also known for founding projects such as Icon of Coil, Panzer AG, Scandinavian Cock, and Scandy. Widely recognised for their aggressive fusion of industrial music, electronic body music (EBM), and heavy metal, the band have built a reputation for high-energy, mechanical-sounding riffs, pounding rhythms, and a raw, club-influenced intensity.
Their sound blends distorted guitars with electronic programming, harsh vocals, and relentless percussion, creating a style that sits between industrial dance music and heavy metal aggression. Combichrist began as a studio project from Andy LaPlegua, originally rooted in the European electro-industrial and EBM scene. The band consists of only LaPlegua in the studio, with a changing lineup of live performing members brought in for touring and stage performances.
