Conan are a British doom metal band from Liverpool, formed in 2006, emerging from the heavier end of the underground where pace is usually treated as optional. Their sound is built on low-tuned guitars, slow repetition, and an overall sense that subtlety was never really part of the brief.
Over time they’ve become a key name in modern doom and sludge, known for an uncompromising approach that prioritises weight and tone over complexity, with songs that tend to feel deliberately blunt in execution.
Conan were originally formed as a two-piece by guitarist and vocalist Jon Davis, alongside drummer Richie Grundy in 2006. After Grundy’s departure, Paul O’Neil stepped in on drums, with the band continuing to develop their early sound before entering a near year-long hiatus.
When activity resumed, Conan expanded their line-up to include bass guitar, rotating through several musicians before Chris Fielding joined in 2013, helping to stabilise the band’s recording and live direction. Longtime drummer Paul O’Neil, who had performed on both early full-length releases, was later replaced in 2014 by Rich Lewis, who went on to handle drums through the following phase of the band’s output.
The current line-up is anchored by founding member Jon Davis, with Johnny King on drums (since 2017) and David Ryley on bass (since 2023), forming the latest incarnation of the band’s heavy, stripped-back approach.
These releases chart Conan’s development from early underground recordings into a fully established force within modern doom metal and sludge. Their discography is defined by consistency of tone rather than stylistic change, focusing on repetition, heaviness, and raw sonic weight.
This page focuses primarily on Conan T-shirts and hoodies, and accessories sourced from official suppliers and produced to a high standard. Designs reflect the band’s doom and sludge identity, using bold, minimal artwork that matches their heavy, stripped-back sound.
Stock rotates regularly, so if something catches your eye, it’s worth picking it up while available.
