Delta Sleep are a British math rock band formed in 2010 in Canterbury, now based in Brighton. They write the kind of songs that feel busy in the best way. Twisty guitars, clever rhythms, and melodies that still land even when the time signatures are doing backflips. It is technical, but it is also warm and human, not cold and showy.
The current lineup is Devin Yüceil on guitar and vocals, Glen Hodgson on guitar, Dave Jackson on bass, and Dave Morgan on drums. The band are great at balancing detail with feeling, so the songs can be intricate without losing the emotional centre. If you like math rock with proper choruses, and a bit of indie rock heart in the mix, you will get on with them quickly.
You can jump in anywhere, but the albums tend to reward a full listen. Put one on, let the quieter parts breathe, and the bigger moments hit harder. If you already know them, physical copies make a lot of sense for a band like this.
