The Dickies are an American punk rock band formed in the San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, California in 1977 by vocalist Leonard Graves Phillips and guitarist Stan Lee. One of the earliest bands to emerge from the Southern California punk explosion, they became known for their unique combination of high-speed punk rock, infectious pop melodies, humour, and inventive cover versions.
While many of their contemporaries embraced a more confrontational approach, The Dickies carved out a distinctive niche through their cartoonish energy, musical virtuosity, and irreverent sense of fun.
