Emmure are an American metalcore band formed in 2003. They started out in New Fairfield, Connecticut, then later moved their base to Queens, New York. Their sound is built around blunt force grooves, heavy breakdowns, and a no frills attitude that has kept them a steady name in the heavy world for years.
The first public release was the 2006 EP The Complete Guide to Needlework, and from there the catalogue has grown into eight full length albums. Even as the scene around them has shifted, Emmure have stayed consistent. They write music that is direct, aggressive, and made to hit hard live, with plenty of bounce in the riffs so it does not just feel like noise.
If you are new, start with one of the bigger later albums for the cleanest production, then work backwards to hear the rawer early era. Either way, the DNA stays the same, heavy grooves and a lot of energy.
