The Goo Goo Dolls are an American rock band formed in 1986 in Buffalo, New York, by guitarist and vocalist John Rzeznik, bassist and vocalist Robby Takac, and original drummer George Tutuska. Starting as a cover band before developing a punk-inspired sound, the group rose to international fame in the mid-1990s. Their breakthrough came with the hit single “Name” in 1995, followed by their most iconic track, “Iris”, which cemented their place as one of the most beloved alternative rock bands of all time.
