Crystal Lake are a Japanese metalcore band from Tokyo, formed in 2002. They sit right on the line between metalcore and hardcore, with tight, modern production and enough groove to keep the heavy parts landing properly. It is fast when it needs to be, brutal when it wants to be, and still built around hooks that stick.
A big part of their reputation comes from the live side. Crystal Lake have been a regular name on international lineups for years, and the songs are written like they expect a crowd to move. Breakdowns hit hard, but there is always momentum behind them, not just stop start heaviness for the sake of it.
If you are new, pick a recent full length and work backwards. You will hear how the sound has tightened over time while keeping the same intensity. If you already know them, this is the place to grab physical copies for the shelf.
